Quote:
The Tennessean newspaper reported today that "many observers, including a longtime Saturn dealer who owns three outlets in and around Nashville, said they think Saturn will survive as a brand, although it might be sold to a rival overseas manufacturer." I'm not sure I understand how GM could sell Saturn when it no longer has any stand alone, proprietary product or factories. All of their products are just rebadged models shared with other GM divisions, built on shared GM platforms, and made alongside other GM models in shared factories. Would they sell the platforms, or the rights to produce those platforms? If not, what else is "Saturn"? It's basically just a name. I don't see how valuable that would be to, let's say, the Chinese, especially when there would be no real product or factories to go with it.
