New-for-2009 Saturn Vue XR 2.4L Announced

Quote:
It's pending arrival has been rumored for several weeks, but now it is official: Saturn recently announced the availability of a new 2.4L version of it's uplevel Vue XR sport-utility on the brand's ImSaturn social networking website. Spokesman Mike Morrissey revealed some of the features that will be offered in the vehicle. "At Saturn, we don't think you should not have to give up cool vehicle features just to save money at the gas pump," he wrote. "That's why we are introducing a new version of the well-equipped Vue XR with an efficient four-cylinder engine."

Saturn should offer HID headlights and HID fog lights, or at least make it an affordable option. Or make it standard on the XR and Red Line, and optional for the XE. HID's make driving at night much safer.

2002 VUE 2.2L
Default Re: New-for-2009 Saturn Vue XR 2.4L Announced

I'm glad for this.

Part of what brought me to buying the VUE originally was that I could get a 4 cylinder, and I could load it up with the equipment that I wanted.

If they would put a 5 or 6 speed manual in it, I would consider one as a replacement for my VUE when the time comes.

Things have changed starkly, however... a XR 2.4 with what I would want on it would be close to $30K... my nearly fully optioned 2002 FWD4m would have been about $19K - although I got it on the $16,995 Sport Plus promotion, plus a couple of other options.

Still no 4cylinder AWD Vue? That's a shame. Subaru, Ford, Kia, Toyota and Honda are cashing in. This is what people want. Why isn't GM giving people what they want?

Agreed. A manual would be nice, but the real market seems to be in AWD. I see loads of Ford Escape 4-cylinders with AWD every day, along with several CR-V's and Subarus. Seems like GM is really missing an opportunity, unless the extra-porky VUE is just too doggy with the 4 and AWD.

I believe you hit the nail on the head tacekpj... The VUE gained over 500 pounds with the conversion to a metal body.
