A new feeditems entry has been added:

Aura Points Saturn Towards Europe

Quote:
Jeffrey Zygmont from recently discussed the new 2009 Saturn Aura in the Motor Mouth newspaper column. He cited Saturn's recent European influence - in terms of styling and road manners - as the most dramatic change in the brand's character. The "Aura's European aspirations represent the biggest change for Saturn," he wrote.

Well not quite.. It's actually pretty unique to Saturn in everything except for vague front end similarities..

Good review though!

The basic outer design is based on the Opel Vectra. We do have the benefit of the long wheel base. That, to me, is what makes this car.

I agree.. And honestly, I don't like when people compare it to the Vectra, only because I think the Aura is a much nicer car.. Well, the vectras interior is nicer..

If they would have brought over the vectra in tact, we would have had a nicer version of the last generation Malibu, that's all..

The Aura, I think really improved upon the idea of the Vectra.

I think it is a little sad that the Aura debuted 2 years ago (not to mention the other 4 new Saturn models) & the automotive journalism community still needs to hang their hat on "European inspired" & "not like the old Saturns"...

The Aura holds its own & far surpasses most of the competition on its own merits!
