Also I was wondering, if you look under the drivers seat in a FWD 4 sport there seems to be a vent on the floor. What does that do? I do not feel any air flow from this piece, any ideas?
thanks, DMK's Vue

Turn your heat or a/c on and put some air to the floor. It is a rear seat heat duct.

Do such vents exist on the L series? Ive seen a feature matrix claiming so -- but this is edmunds remember....with the 1200 pound 4 speed 5 speed automatic transmission.

These vents exist on my SW2, so I would imagine that they would be there on the L series...

I am pretty sure they are on the L cars.

I even had them on my old Cavalier. I was getting quite intimate with the interior of my Vue this weekend by installing my mobile ham radio. There's a ton of room under those front seats! Of course that means more room for collecting debris and junk.
Yet another thing I like about my Vue: flat floors!

Not meaning to hijack this thread....
The Alinco is a good radio. I started out with a dj-180 2m ht. I "graduated" to a Kenwood mobile rig then the Yaesu currently installed in my Vue. If you decide to install something in your L300 look around up front for any room. I find the detachable face units are more versatile. The antenna install was a bit more challenging. I attached a mount to one of the bolts holding down the roof rack frame. It works great, looks clean and professional and that big roof is a great ground plane! Good luck with whatever you decide!

I like the detachable face units, and i probably could find room up in front. But i really would like to hide the antenna.. ive seen the window mount "cellular looking" ones, but they are a bit too big for me ... let alone a magmount :/

I had a Yaesu FT-5100 in my 95 SW2... I had a glass mount antenna on the back of it. (I didn't know that the wagon was the only S series car with a plastic roof... go figure). A coworker of mine has a Yaesu mobile mounted under the dash of his '01 SC1, and the face is mounted the large plastic area above the vents. Not much space for this sort of equipment in the s cars!
