A new story entry has been added:

Saturn Sales Decline in July Inline with Industry; Aura, Sky, Astra Sales Increased Last Month

Quote:
Saturn sales were down 13.6% in July, despite higher sales of the brand's newly revitalized and fuel-efficient car lineup. The jump in sales by the Astra, Sky, and Aura, though, wasn't enough to offset the sales gap left by the discontinued Ion sedan and quad coupe. As a result, Saturn's car sales fell 12.7% last month compared to July 2007.

A cheap, fuel efficient, reliable alternative would have been right for these times. GM didn't see it coming but then again neither did Toyota.

Go Aura! The Ecotec seems to be the sales boost this car needed.

Comparing the astra and aura to the ION is apples and oranges when you look at the prices.

I loaded up my ION3 (2.4, 5sp, roof, 4dr) and paid 16K. And that seemed like alot of money to me. Saturn does not have a car that I can afford anymore. Looks like I will lurking at the used cars lot from now on.

Well said. My ION should last at least another 10 years, long after I am finished paying for it. A little over 12,000 with exactly what I wanted on it.

I just keep thinking: How many Cobalt based metal bodied IONs Saturn could have sold over Pontiac's pathetic G5 #s...........
