Default Auto solenoid functions

Does anone know the functions of the individual solenoids? Starting from the front of the car, which one is solenoid A, B, C, TCC actuator, and EPC? I've been having issues not always shifting into 3rd or 4th and holding. Checked them last nite none looked bad or had different resistance, so I swapped locations. After short test drive all shifts, up and down occurred but were harsh. I understand the hard shifting is part of the learning curve, but it shouldn't be going thru it now.
If I knew what each solenoid does, I should be able to determine the bad one or at 170,000 just replace all of them?

Default Re: Auto solenoid functions

Nevermind, it looks like swapping the solenoids and cleaning the plug contacts moved whateveer the issue was. After a good test drive with many shift sequences, it's shifting nice and smooth and holds all the gears. Is it normal for it not to start in neutral? I forgot if it did before. If not I'll have to check the switch/selector adjustment. I was looking at replacing all of the solenoids but at $40 plus each I was leaning towards a cleaned used valve body with a year warranty. Possible this was just a temporary solution. If any symptoms come back it will be time for a valve body.
It looks like the diff pin damage has been repaired for $50 welding and $20 for roll pins and a bunch of time. So now it will be worth buying tires for inspection next month.
