A couple of "spy" photos taken recently during the filming of 'Transformers 2' in Philadelphia indicate that Saturn's Astra will be featured in the movie alongside other GM vehicle superstars like the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro, Hummer HX, and Saab Aero-X. The Transformers Live fan site says that two photos of a "silver Saturn with bullet holes" surfaced online earlier this week. The pictures seem to show the Astra as part of an elaborate "chase scene" that's set in the city.

I read this a couple days ago as well. They're not sure if the Saturn is just stuck in the middle of all the fighting (it was full of bullet holes) or if its an Autobot.

I think it's kinda lame how movies become an advertisement for a certain brand. But oh well, what can you do? Yeah, it's very realistic having every car on the road be a GM car!

If you grew up on 60's TV like I did, certain programs were like that. If a certain manfacturer sponsored theprogream, EVERY car on the road was that make.

ABC's "FBI" program on Sunday night was sponsoned by Ford. It looked weird that every FBI car, criminal car, and civilian cars were of a Ford make.

At what it costs to make some of these movies, it couldnt be done without corporate sponsorship. Doesnt bother me.

If a paticular brand of car that you didnt like very much offered you free cars and lots of cash to drive them. Your driveway would be full of said vehicles.

It would be full of them, but I don't know if I would drive them. Depends on which cars I suppose, because if they're hot pink Beetles, no thank you!

The lower body line does not match. And neither does the front facia. Good eye!

If you notice the other vehicles in the pictures, they're squished horizontally as well. Making them and the Astra look shorter than they really are. Its also a crappy cell phone picture.

Well, except for metalfred74, yes, you are. It IS an Astra. How can you not see it? GM is a major sponsor for the movie, any 'hero' car, meaning any car that is going to get a lot of 'face time' is going to be a GM car. The exception to that rule was Barricade, who was a Mustang, but that was simply to keep the Mustang vs. Camaro thing going. It's an Astra, seriously. The Chevy Beat is in the movie as well, and we won't see that here until next year. The car, I mean.
