1996 SL2
Default Code P0741

Hi Everyone,

I have a 1996 SL2 automatic that is having some issues. The SES light came on today and the transmission is intermittently shifting "funny" in between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd. The only code I am getting is P0741. Is there a way to tell if this is a valve body or the TCC solenoid? I do need a transmission fluid change (overdue). I do not have any reverse slam symptoms so far.

The only other thing I have noticed lately is that seemed to have trouble down shifting when I take my foot off the gas - like it hesitates before it shifts into lower gear.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I replaced the ECTS a few months ago - should I try to replace it again?

Also a few months ago - PCV valve and O2 sensor

I will change out the transmission fluid hopefully today or tomorrow.

Well first have you kept up with the fluid and filter changes, every 30K?

The transmission is punishment enough. If you catch it in time, this thread explains a procedure that might help.
