They definitely seem to be aiming for the jugular... Shuttung down the light trucks will be next...

This will no doubt force very new manufacturing opportunity out of the country. The most US content, US manufactured cars will be the Hondas and Hyundais.

Its going to be the unions and employee benefit package that will be the death of GM. Think I'd rather compromise on issues and have a job then be out of work and have it sent out of the country.

But they're helping "protect" the middle class! ...at least that's what their commercials say...

My middle-class job is just fine without a union...

Suddenly it's 1957. They won't stop till they and the CEOs have destroyed the domestic auto industry for good.

Thanks for all the great support and stellar workmanship our union brethren have given the customer over the past 45 years.

Reminds me of AMC and a lawn mower engine manufacturer and their unions: Either continue to have a job and work, or strike and have no job. In AMC's case: no sales and eventual buy out by Chrysler, in the case of the engine manufacturer:workers struck and the factory moved to Mexico.

GM has a couple of winners on it's hands for the first time in years, so let's strike.Smart move UAW as GM sinks to 2nd largest automaker. Hey Lutz: how about going for third.

Sorry: with such backward thinking, I will have no qualms about considering a Foreign branded car in the future.
It may be "Live Better Work Union" for the "worker". For the car buyer it's drive better buy foreign.

After observing this nonsense over the course of 40 years, I owe them no loyalty any longer, from the delusional egomaniacal Roger Smith to the crooked and self serving unions, somehow I have a hard time being "loyal" to the home team. Management & union "leaders": made for each other. Customers be damned.

BTW: Lest we forget, it was this very same UAW that had the original Saturn worker's contract in it's cross hairs almost from the minute the ink was dry and worked it's evil to dismantle it from day one.

Gotta love em.
