Default Clutch Pedal Adjustment

Hello!

My clutch has been acting up lately (not grabbing right, not disengaging right, etc), and I let my friend drive it and he thinks the pedal is maladjusted. All the action is at the bottom (Sometimes when I start it I have to push REALLY hard to engage the ignition safety override thingie), and he thinks it can be adjusted. We have a friend with a first generation Forester and he figured it out really easily and thinks that it's a similar problem with mine.

Does anyone know how to go about adjusting the clutch pedal (not the actual clutch)?

Thanks!

A Saturn clutch is hydraulic, there is no adjustment to the clutch itself or the pedal either. Do a search for the clutch hydraulics and check them as shown. If the hydraulics check out, it may be time for a new clutch.

The clutch start switch is at the bottom of the pedal travel. It's intentional that it requires you to mash the pedal as far as it will go in order to close the switch. That won't (and shouldn't) change, no matter what happens with the hydraulics or the clutch itself.

Barnowl has a Clutch hydrauls how-to in the library. Check it out. If it passes then its not the hydraulics and can possibly be your pressure plate.
