Hi all,

I talked to a Saturn dealer in NY and they offered me a lease deal through WellsFargo. I guess there is no GMAC lease plans for the Astra. Has anyone ever went through WellsFargo that could say if it was safe and ok to do.

Does anyone know of any other lease plans for the Astra?

The saturn.com site shows a number of lease options for astra.

It is not unusual for dealers to use other lease providers or banks. The thing is that they may be getting a better deal from another provider. The question is, are YOU (the buyer) also getting a better deal.

I would not be worried about Wells Fargo. However, one advantage with a manufacturer lease is that they will often offer to terminate your lease earlier in order to get you into a newer car.

Dealer should be showing you ALL your options, GMAC or otherwise.

Thanks for the reply Amphicar770. I went to saturn.com and they currently have no lease options for the Astra. I'm not sure where you are seeing the lease options but if you are can you post a direct URL to it.

bank leases are ok but arnt as customer friendly as a gmac lease. wells had or i think still has, we dont use them anymore for leases, 350 buck diaspostion fee, more picky on damage at the end and unless they have changed you cannot turn in the lease ahead of time even if you pay it all off. they have insurance to cover losing money at the end of the lease so they will not take them back early no matter what or there insurance doesnt kick in. it was that way 4 years ago last time we used them. i dont think its changed

Thanks for that long list of numbers. I have called all the dealers in my area and outside my area and every one of them have said there is no lease program only a finance program. I'm not after a finance I'm after a lease.

Sounds like doing the lease through Weels Fargo is not a good idea. according to these forums and every sales person I have talked to in the NY area GMAC are not going to have a lease on this car for the near future.

dispostion fee is what you pay at the end of the lease to turn it in. gmac doesnt have a dispostion fee. at gmac you can buy it for residual value or turn it in. only charges would be for over mileage or damage. the banks do not want you to turn it back in so they try discourage it. if i ever leased a car i would only use gmac
