2007 Outlook XR
Default Idling Issues

Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced any issues while sitting in the car at a light and the car is idling. Twice in the last couple of weeks I came to a stop at a light and I noticed the engine making a funny noise and when I turned the radio all the way down you can hear the engine kind of sputtering while idling. Almost as if it were not getting enough gas. Once I gave it a little gas and then started moving it was fine. Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this and if so any info you can pass along would be appreciated. I am due for an oil change in a few weeks and will bring it to the tech's attention, unless it gets more frequent by then. 10,450 miles on the car.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

How often does it happen? Was it on empty?

It has only happened twice so far. As far as the fuel goes I always use BP or Exxon and I never go below 1/4 tank. The days when it happened were not cold and the car had been driven and was more than warmed up.

1995 SC1
Default Re: Idling Issues

I have no idea hot the Outlook works, but my SC1 has had issues with the EGR valve for years. It's as if the car is choking or something. I usually throw it into neutral and give it some gas to "clear its throat".

The EGR was under recall way back when I first bought the car, and was repaired, but it still sticks.

...
This is one fine, plastic example of American engineering!

1995 SC1, no options at all, barely running, but deeply loved
