Quote:
The folks at LeftlaneNews.com have posted what are believed to be pictures of the next-generation Saturn Astra. The new car, which according to the auto site, will be sold "as a Saturn in North America, an Opel in Germany, Holden in Australia, and a Vauxhall in Britain," is expected to arrive in 2010.

Nice. Looks kinda Volvo-ish on the front end. I don't like the square back window, but that might be the camo paint causing that look.

Does painting it like a checkered flag mean more engine choices here in the US?

I like the current design, this new one looks like the headlights are from the last gen honda accord.

Thats some heavy camoflauge. It's missing a few pieces also, but I found the rear door slice interesting. Makes for harder entry but less chance of hitting yourself with the door.

Still too early to make judgement on it's looks.

Looks like the 5-door is getting the 3-door's shape in the rear and they're cutting out the window to the cargo area. The grille is a little more AURA-esque and the headlamps are more swept. The taillights are quite obviously not production. Looks like the twist-beam suspension is gone on the new Deltas too.

Can't tell too much from the heavy camo. It looks like the rear quarter windows will be gone and in its place a wider C-pillar not uncommon to recent Toyota models (FJ Cruiser, Scion xB, '09 Matrix).

I'd like to see us get the wagon and a broader array of engines with the coming generation. I think that would help keep the price of admission for Astra lower (as well as assembly closer to home).
