This information might be new to CR, but a number of other sources--Intellichoice, Edmunds, and most recently Vincentric--have been providing it for years.

My main issue with such information: many of the estimated costs are very rough or can even contain obvious methodological weaknesses. For example, in some cases the MSRP without rebates is assumed to be the purchase price.
