Real world mileage for 3.5

Been tossing around the idea of picking up a slightly used Aura XE (3.5)

Was wondering what kind of mileage everyone is getting? This car would spend most of it's time on the highway. My mom had a Malibu with the 3.5 in it and it got great all around mileage.

I'm in stop/go driving every day with a short stretch of highway. I think I average about 12L/100kms or 19.6 mpg in the city. Highway is much different story. Last trip I did got me 7.2L/100kms or 32mpg.

I got 30.2 mpg on my last tank. Pretty good, especially considering it's only the second tank the car has ever had put in. That's 99.8% highway driving.

I'm getting 19-20mpg in mine. I was expecting more, but with the 6 it eats up more than I thought.

I am getting 25.4 MPG with 9,800 miles on the odometer with 85% of my driving on the highway (though in Orlando, that can mean stop-and-go traffic). On pure highway driving, I get 31.8. Pure city, 20.4. I have a fairly heavy foot and prefer to travel in the 70-80 MPH range.

I got 17.4mpg on a brand new 08 Aura XE 3.5L with 80 miles on the odometer. I was in Denver where the high altitude, and 85 octane fuel probably skewed the mileage lower. I was driving 90% stop and go driving 35-45 mph.

I have an 07 xe V6 with about 3600 miles, and believe it or not I am averaging 26.7 MPG in mixed driving. About 65%hwy 35% city.

I am not just going by the computer in the car, I go to the same pump every week put in the same # of gallons and calculate my mileage.

I am extremely happy with the results so far, considering my old mazda suv got about 21 on a good day!

2008 aura xe 3.5 v6 current mileage is 1,550 miles and so far of the gas i have had to put in it. worse was 24mpg and best 32 mpg. 80% highway 20% city give or take. Very impressed. Its still in the shop, but once its done getting fixed, i hope to keep getting these results or higher. bue05 p.s. the Instant MPG helps you sorta learn how to drive it and what affects mpg according to the dic....?

I'm right there with Cowtown_Raider. I'm getting approx. 7.2L/100Km Highway and 13.4L/100km City (regular traffic), averaging about 12l/100km. Where it gets really bad is stop-and-go traffic where I have seen it go all the way to 19l/100km. Luckily, I can generally avoid it.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted but avoid idling as much as possible. It's bad for the environment and for your mileage.

Just for comparison sake, my Magnum averages about 12mpg. I'm sure it coudl do better, but every time I drive it, I can't stay out of the fun pedal.

Last time I checked, the fuel efficient was 9.2L/100km. 80% highway, I guess?

Im with cowtown and michel as well. Mixed of city/highway is about 12-13klm/litre. On pure highway it rivals my A4, but city driving kills me. I guess we all knew that when we signed on the line (3.5V6)!

I am getting between 23 to 24 in and around Colorado Springs and the last trip through the mountains from Colorado Springs to Breckenridge I got 32 miles per gallons! It a great car!

We have had our xe for about five months and are getting around 26 mpg in all around driving. We took a trip from Michigan to Branson Mo. this summer and got 34 mpg with the air on all the time and traveling at 75 to 80 on the freeways.

I just moved to Phoenix, HORRIBLE rush hour traffic for the record. I am averaging 21.5 miles to a gallon in the stop and start traffic over here. And rush hour here intails sitting on I-10 and moving 10 feet every ten minutes.

Oh forgot to mention on the drive to Phoenix from Delaware, I got 32.2 miles to the gallon on RT 40 in TX all the way to Flagstaff.

I have an 07 and I am averaging 21.5 miles to a gallon in the city stop and start traffic in Jacksonville. Fast take offs, burns that gas and lower your miles per gallon.
