I submitted, thought I would give it a try. Never used MMO fuel treatment before. I have seen people use the MMO for curing oil burning and use in the engine through the spark plug wells before though.

I'm new to treatments. Is this used like Seafoam, and how is it different? Fuel tank or under the oil cap?

according to the site the stuff in those little bottles is the same as the big MMO bottles that can be used in the crank case and fuel. they just conveniently packaged it in a one shot size for fuel.

Was looking at the website and it said that the full size can be used to replace 1 qt of oil every oil change. Was just wondering if anyone had tried this and what the results were.

I've used MMO in my oil, but I personally wouldn't use an entire quart unless I used a thicker oil to add it to. MMO is pretty thin as it is, adding 1 qt of that with around 4 qts of 5W-30 is getting pretty thin.

I know when I would add some MMO to the 2.7L in my trep, my oil consumption went up a little bit, probably due to the thinning out. But that didn't bar me from using it. Typically I would add about 4 to 8 ounces, sometimes 16 ounces, to top off my oil about 500 miles before changing it. Usually by that time, it was getting close to the min mark and it was pretty much time to change it anyway. In case anyone isn't aware, the 2.7L in those cars are prone to sludge issues and I was using the MMO as a preventative. Cut open a few used oil filters and they always looked good inside.

One thing I did observe is a red staining of the spark plugs in my trep. Now, I wasn't the original owner, I bought the car with 48K on it and changed the plugs out at around 64K and they were OE. They all had a red color to them. I had used MMO several times in my gas prior to changing the plugs. I haven't conclusively tied their color to my MMO use but haven't found any other explanation for it. I never got around to checking the new ones after using MMO in the fuel again before I eventually traded the car in to see if it happened again.

Here are links to pics I have of them. I still have the plugs in the cellar and could try to take better shots. If anyone else has seen this or has any explanation for it please chime in. I've changed plenty of plugs before but can't say I've ever seen this before or since.

Yes, that container size is a departure for them. Trivia: I have been to their only production plant (in Rye, NY) and it's still in the same building! As for me, for 30 + years I have been adding MMO to my oil at each change. And in the oilfield where I now work, we have been adding it to 1,000+ HP Waukesha lean and rich burn compressor engines since long before I was there. We buy it in one gallon cans out there. Good stuff.

I put 1/2 quart in my oil at change time in my 1995 Chev pickup for 186,000 miles before I sold it. Never any oil usage problems and what I hear from the new owner is that he has over 220K on it and still never had the heads or the pan off.
