Default To All Those In Southern California...

I can't help but notice the terrible news I've been seeing everyday about Southern California and the wildfires... first thought I had was, "Do I know anybody in California." The only people that come to mind is some of my community members here on SaturnFans S-Series Forum... the first that comes to mind is member JerryHughes in San Diego, however, I know Low Saturn is from Cali (not sure where) anyway... I want to send out my condolences to all of you and your families that have been affected by the fires. I hope you all are safe and well.

I'm in nothern California. The San Francisco bay area. Far, far away from those fires. I live on the east foothills of San Jose and we've had a couple small fires in the past couple weeks.

Heres how far away I am.

I can see my house. My Dark Geeen SL2 is park out front in the street, the Suburban, Tahoe and brothers red SL2 are in the driveway. And my dads green SW2 and friends SC2 are on the side driveway. You can even see the flatbed trailer on the side yard with the dragster covered on it.

Southern Cali. here, I am in El Cajon... if you look at the map above you can see that there are little fires burning all over the place. I am actually at work. Here at Saturn of El Cajon, I am a sales consultant. I am really sure everyone wants to come buy a new Saturn after the fires run them out of their houses!Look at the map right above where it says San Diego... thats me

All that smoke on top of the usual L.A. pollution must be terrible. It's bad enough when we have big forest fires in northern Alberta - it burns your eyes and daylight becomes an eerie shade of orange.

Reminds me of all the fires in Florida earlier this year. Except CA has it worse.
I remember the first day I walked outside and didn't smell smoke. It was nice.

I'm one of the people who had to leave my house Tuesday at 2am PDT. I stuffed my tent and other camping gear in my car, it barely fit. I'm back home now in Spring Valley just a few miles south of Polodude. I even get my parts from his dealership!

We lived in Thousand Oaks, Ca (west of Los Angeles) for 12 years. I was there for a few of the fire episodes. Had ash coming down on our roof a few times and sat on the roof with the garden hose!

Now that the shrubs are burnt off the hills, expect next spring's news to be "MUDSLIDES" (especially if it rains a lot this winter). I see Mike has found a new "toy" (MS Live)!

It's very cool (MS Live), and rated as one of the best of the bunch! I travel a lot in my business and go to pretty remote places now and then (oil and gas production operations). I use it a lot to map routes, etc.

I hope everyone is alright too.

There have been some fires here too, not wildfires like that, but one house/apartment would catch fire and it would spread because they are built so closely together and I guess the drought helped play a role. There were a few apartment complexes that burned up recently here. That's why I don't like apartments or houses built that close, because your neighbor could drop a cigarette or something and burn their house up and yours goes right along with it!

Glad to hear everybody is dealing with it whatever way they can. Here in northern New York theres really nothing serious like those fires going on. We usually get a lot of snow in the winter.. but that doesnt cause too much damage, just a lot of cold and shoveling to be done.
