Default What would you Pick - 2005 L Series or 2005 Ion 3 - read on

I have a 2000 LS1 right now...

thinking of tradingin/and or selling and possibly
buying a new 2005 L300 or a 2005 ION 3 Sedan.

What would you pick??

I know the L Series are now out of production...
but I still love them.

Not to sure on the Ion's...

Need advice from the Ion lovers...

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

My advice would be drive both and see which you prefer. Since the '05 L is a limited production run, you can't option them to your liking. I believe the only options are leather interior and a sunroof. However, they include a whole lot as standard equipment and the incentives are decent as they are trying to clear them off the lot.

The '05 L is L81 V6 / auto only, if that makes a difference. It's a fantastic V6 but you're out of luck if you want to shift for yourself. We love our ice blue '05 L300 but I miss the manual transmission.

One more piece of info--remember that the resale value of the L (for a variety of reasons) is lousy. It isn't an issue if you're going to keep it for a while, but it's worth considering a lightly used model as you'll save a ton.

Good luck...both are great cars, so you can't go wrong!

The sunroof is, the leather seats are actually done by the dealer. I've seen a few L's around here on the lots with aftermarket leather seats.

I think that I'd choose the L series. I like the stlying on the L better than the ION and since the engine and trans are essentially the same (not neccesarily identical of course) I just figure why not.

With gas flying over $2 a gallon, and probably being there permenantly, I'd go with the ION. A thirsty V6 sounds like a bad idea to me. Heck, I am getting tired of only getting 30 mpg with my 4 cyl L.

I'd rather have a 2005 Ion because I could buy one with a stick.

If you like your LS1, you'll LOVE the L300. Not only should it be far more reliable than your 2000 (and I speak from experience), you'll find it to be smoother, quieter, faster, and more solid-feeling. I've never driven an ION, but the L is a great, though underrated, car.

Dizzy Re: What would you Pick - COLOR NOW!!!

Hi...all

thanks for weighing in with your opinions!!

So now I have another question!

What COLOR would you choose for the 2005 L300?

They have found a RED - BLACK and SILVER for me
if I choose to go with the L
(with sunroof)

My fist choice was black until everyone and their brother
told me how hard it is too keep a black car looking good...

Silver....doesn't everyone have silver?

Red....I can't remember if the color red was brilliant or flat???

The web does not do these cars justice...

I would love to see side by side comparison's of the
3 color with people's real cars!!

If I pick one...it is out of Province...so what ever I pick...
that's the final choice...

thanks in advance

looking forward to your opinions!
