Question What to Do? What would you pick 2005 L Series or 2005 ION 3?? read on

I have a 2000 LS1 right now...

thinking of tradingin/and or selling and possibly
buying a new 2005 L300 or a 2005 ION 3 Sedan.

What would you pick??

I know the L Series are now out of production...
but I still love them.

Not to sure on the Ion's...

Need advice from the Ion lovers...

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

How many people are you hauling around with it? Motorweek had this to say when they reviewed the L back in 1999.
Quote:
We expect the Saturn L-Series to give established mid-size family car lines a real run for their money. In our opinion, you can't get a better family car for less.
Sadly few seemed to have paid attention to that review.
Do you ever haul more than 1 other person? If so, stick with an L, otherwise the Ion's probably best.

2006 ION-3 Sedan

I had the same choice in December 2002 and opted for an ION3. Reason was simply that I planned to use the ION mostly as a one or two person car and in 2002 the net cost was several thousand less $ than the L. We also owned my wife's VUE at the time for instances when we needed a larger vehicle. We previously had a first year LS1 and were happy with it. The ION just fit our needs and budget better.
I think you need to determine how many people will be riding in your car normally and how much room you like as a driver. Probably with available discounts you can get a good deal on an L right now. If you want to drive it into the ground it will provide you with good value for the price. I'm not too sure I would buy any car that is a discontinued model however if I planned to trade it with low to moderate mileage within only a few years.
Good luck either way.

Default What would you Pick - COLOR NOW!!!

Hi...all

thanks for weighing in with your opinions!!

So now I have another question!

What COLOR would you choose for the 2005 L300?

They have found a RED - BLACK and SILVER for me
if I choose to go with the L
(with sunroof)

My fist choice was black until everyone and their brother
told me how hard it is too keep a black car looking good...

Silver....doesn't everyone have silver?

Red....I can't remember if the color red was brilliant or flat???

The web does not do these cars justice...

I would love to see side by side comparison's of the
3 color with people's real cars!!

If I pick one...it is out of Province...so what ever I pick...
that's the final choice...

I am still going to test drive a ION 3 tomorrow...then decide.

thanks in advance

looking forward to your opinions!

Silver for me unless the red is the cranberry red.
Black is out because of the necessity of frequent washing and I don't particulary like the idea of riding around looking as if I was the captain of the local fire company. My ION is Cranberry however and I do like that color. Just kidding about the bright red, but that is just not me.

The black is sharp when it's clean but yeah, that's not often. If it's a "cranberry" red then I'd go with that, otherwise silver (which is the color of my ION).

Look at the current incentives. In Arizona, our IONs have $500 worth of incentives and the Ls have $3500 worth of incentives. At the dealership I work at, we are selling Ls for $16,995 (no sunroof), so they actually come in cheaper then the IONs. Just remember, the IONs have a 5 year / 60,000 mile warranty while the Ls have a 3/36. Also, IONs can be leased while the Ls cannot. As long as you hook up with a good sales consultant, they can give you a side by side comparison, give you all the facts and write up numbers for both, and then you can make the best decision for yourself.
