Default Project car

Just bought a 92' sc2 with over 200K with a newer trans and engine for 200.00 dollars for my son (12) to work on. It has a transmission leak I think at the radiator or one of the cooler lines and just needs TLC on the interior really. I will be looking at other posts with cars of this year for things to look at. I trailered it home yesterday and my son allready has the seats out of it giving it a good clean in the garage He says "Dad this guy was really messy!!" . Next week I will look into the tranny leak.

That's great!

My dad and I do the same thing, we started when I was 16 and now I'm 23. In that time we've fixed over 16 of them. I had great fun and I learned so much. I'm a mechanical engineering student (graduate this May! ) and it really put things into perspective to me, as far as mechanical parts work.

I'm sure he'll learn a lot and it will be fun for you all to do. I know I enjoyed it a lot and I'm really fortunate to have such a great dad that took an interest with me and showed me so much.

Have fun with it!

PS...there's something always messy with $200 Saturns . I guess those people don't like to clean their cars!

The Saturn s_series are so fun to work with and surprisingly simple once you get your hands dirty.
I have modified the heck outta my SL2 and still am. They are great cars once you get them the way you want them!

The saturns have to be one of the easiest cars to work on.

I suppose the 5 deg weather and snow gave it away. That day was cold to messing around straping a car down on a trailer, but worth it. Nothing like wisconsin eh!

Yeah - the snow in the pics plus the circumstances of a quick sale, price, car, etc. Figured it was too much of a coinkydink.
Good find!
Hope you and your son enjoy the restore Bring it through town sometime when you're done.
