Question Disc Brakes

Heard a rumour at work saying that all L series cars will be produced with 4 wheel disc brakes starting next year. Anybody hear anything?

I thought all Ls have 4 wheel disc currently? Or does the L100 lack them?

According to Saturn's web page all models have

"Anti-lock Braking System with Traction Control
Electrohydraulic control unit and four-wheel speed sensors with power-assisted, ventilated front disc/rear drum"

That wouldn't be the first time they got the web site wrong!

AFAIK, the 2002 L100's are still rear drums, like the 2001 L100 and L200's. All the VUE's have rear drums.

L100= disc/ drum
L200 / L300 = 4-wheel disc

For 2003, L100 goes away. They originally weren't going to build many L100's for 2002, but now they're building the promotional L100's with the additional options. These still have drum rear brakes.

I think they should keep the L100. People like BOBL looking for a basic car. Another Saturn mistake!

Why use drums on ANY car...regardless...

are they really that much cheaper? They are a total pain in the ass and suck compared to a disc...

I gotta swap some rear discs some time on my 01 SL2 thanks to saturn's cheapness...maybe I shoulda held off on my saturn purchase and gone with a 2002 Cavilier with a 2.2 ECOTEC and 4 wheel discs

Amen, Tycho...drum brakes on cars being built today are about as appropriate as carburetors on today's cars - give us a break! AND 4 wheel disc brakes!!!!!

L100 going away -- Aw Shucks!

L200's nice but it priced quite a bit over what I paid + is equipped with options I don't want even if they were free.

Lucky I've only got 17K on my 2000 LS.
