Default Your opinions on the performance switch on equipped auto S-series?

I have a few more observations and then i will be able to post my own experiences regarding the performance switch in my SL2. But just wondering what everyone elses experience has been with use of the switch for various situations.

It doesn't do much. In 'normal' mode it shifts mostly normally even at WOT (may hold a shift a few hundred RPM, but not much) while in performance mode shifts are a bit firmer and at WOT it'll hold the shift until redline. Around '95 they decided the switch was dumb and just made it hold the shift until redline while at WOT.

Neither mode makes it shift properly.

...
The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

The moral of the story is, if you want your shifting done right - do it yourself

97 was the last year it was used. The engineers did away with it because it's not needed. The PCM has an adaptive learning ability to adjust to whoever is driving the vehicle and how.
