Default Harmonic Resonance...

A few times, I've heard a harmonic resonance coming from the undercarriage (a metalic rattling sound that's subject to and locked to the engine RPM). It's not very loud, and it only lasts a few miles of driving, usually within the first few miles after starting. And it appears to happen more often in warm weather. Yesterday it started soon after I left the house and continued for most of the 25 miles or so that I drove. But today, totally quiet.

I've read some threads here on the forum some months ago about the issue but can't find them now.

My question is this a problem I need to be concerned about or is it OK to let it ride?

And, can someone direct me to the threads I've seen before on this resonance?

Locked to the engine RPM? If so, that would be such an incredibly fast beat....are you sure it is not just a heat shield vibrating, and maybe now it became quiet because the shield has fallen off the car?

It has to be something simple.

Heat shields or the exhaust pipe itself are likely culprits...

Can you get it to make the noise while stationary or must the vehicle be in motion???
