Question AUX input is too quiet

Hey! Brand new member trying to fix something with my 2007 Vue.

Lately when I plug my phone into my AUX input to listen to music, the sound out of the speakers is really quiet. It also sounds like only half of the sound is coming through (like the balance is way off).

The car sounds fine when the radio is on. It's only the aux line. And the phone sounds fine over headphones or speakers.

Has anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions? I've read that some cars have a separate aux volume and I'm hoping the solution is that easy, but I'm guessing that is a loose wire or something and I'm going to have to open up the stereo...

Thanks!

Default Re: AUX input is too quiet

If you have the factory radio, there is no adjustment for the volume of the aux input. I've also noticed this same problem when connecting my phone to the radio in my 2007 Ion which has same radio as your Vue. I don't have this problem when connecting any of my Sansa MP3 players (Sansa Clip, Sansa Clip Zip running RockBox, and Sansa Clip Sport). Because of this, I just chalk it up to my phone having a weak headphone output.

The best you can do is turn the volume all the way up on your phone. I can't speak for all phones, but at least on my Nexus 4 (running Lollipop 5.1) the volume setting is usually only applied to the app I am using. For example, I can turn the volume all the way up on my phone while it is on the home screen, but if I open an app like Pandora the app reverts back to whatever it was set at the last time I had it open.
