Default Drilling gas tanks for gas in SC

Todays plastic gas tanks could easily be drilled to drain the gas without a fire hazard...

Same thing came up a couple years ago when gas prices went up.

That is one of the things I hate about taking a car to the shredder. You have to put a hole in the tank and when I drill a hole it makes me nervous. I use an 18 volt and then drain the gas to use in mowers.

These dudes must be pretty desparate!

They dont make you do that here. But the tank does have to be empty. I just give the pump power and use the cars pump to empty the tank into a 5 gallon gas container. Then fill up my Aura or Suburban.

When I was on Boston they used to steal car batteries. This was the 80's and you could open hoods from the outside (some cars). People would come out and could not start the cars. When they went into their homes or to buy a new battery they were given tickets for illegal parking because they did not move their cars in the AM per parking regs.

I used to work in York County when I started my career, Fort Mill is in that county, great place with nice people. There is also an over-representation of trailer trash. Frig, how I hated going to a trailer in the dead of winter and it'd smell like kerosene and be 80 degrees inside.

I'd like to catch somebody drilling my tank - that wouldn't be the last thing to get drilled.

With gas going up, you'll being hearing more about this. It's a shame that our Saturns don't have locking gas caps. I'll probably have to buy one.
