2007 AURA XR
2008 Astra XE
Default XM radio install

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I need some help on aesthetics,

Purchased a 2007 Aura XR, yesterday. The car has the advanced audio CD system with capability of playing MP3 cd's. No XM on the radio. Took the "Roady II" XM receiver from my L200 and hooked it up in the Aura. The system works fine using the cig lighter to power it, using the headphone jack on the XM as an output & 'AUX" input on the dash to receive the signal. In fact, it even sounds better than the L200 because I can now bypass the FM modulator.

All is fine & works good with the setup. However, the setup requires the XM receiver to be mounted on the center air vent & powered through the front 12V outlet. While it works fine, it looks like krap.

Anybody have any suggestions on mounting the receiver & routing the necessary wiring? Please don't recommend $200 in extra accessaries to do the job. I am relying on the ingenuity of this forum to help me along. I am sure someone has done a great job in setting up one of these sytems in an Aura. I don't want loose wires hanging about. Please provide pictures that would help.

Thanx again,
Vik

How about fabbing up an arm that comes out of the lower center cubby to mount the receiver to? I did something similar for my Magellan in my Aura and Suburban. But then agian, its not there 24/7. Only when I'm on a trip.
