Default How do reflash a PCM?

Does anybody know the steps to reflash an 01 sohc PCM to a DOHC.
If i had the steps, I could tell saturn how to do it, and maybe they would be willing to help me

If that information was readily available, there would be a lot of happy people here. The only people that can help you with that are at Saturn.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just find a j/y DOHC to snag the PCM from?

...
The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

we've been trying to find a j/y DOHC PCM all week... I finally tracked one down today.

Techs @ both our dealerships insist the reflash isn't possibe. We called another dealer outside of NS and he gave us step by step instructions. Our dealers are useless.

Any '95 twin cam (SL2, SC2, SW2) will do.

is it true that the SC2's had a higher limiter (speed/rev) because of the tire ratings on the car?

I didn't/don't think that's right but I heard it the other day.

to my knowlege the PCM's are identical. and as far as iknow all GM compacts at the time where limited to 165 or 170 KMph or 100 to 110 MPH. i could be wrong though.

It'll be 108-110 or 120-124 (I forget the exact numbers) depending on the PCM you get... my SC2 goes just a hair under 200kph, which providing it's reading correctly, is about 122mph. Most non-performance GM cars from like the late 80's even until now are limited to somewhere around 95-110mph, because that's all the tires that come stock will support.

But don't test out your governor if your tires or the road won't support it.

I've had my 93 sc2 up to 115 mph once and only once. I had the higher speed rated bfg's on it so wouldn't blow out a tire. Shortly after I decided to back off to 75, I got tagged by a county sheriff in a 55 zone. Couple days before christmas on dry roads where I had never seen a cop in all the years I traveled that particular section. Mr. officer gave me an early present that cost me 177 dollars and 6 points, just glad he didn't get me sooner at 115. On one of my old cars, speedo went up to 85 and I wrapped that sucker back around to 15. The overflow tank was literally boiling when I stopped. Kinda surprised it didn't blow a gasket.

Yep you can do that. I used a 1995 SC2 PCM in my 1995 SL2 when I did the auto to manual swap.

Sorry but the 92 pcm will only work correct in a 91-92 car or a car that has the 91-92 crank.

Is the only difference between a SL2 PCM and a SC2 Pcm the speed limiter or are the fuel and timing maps different?
