Default Manual Trans Quil Oil Seal

Anyone have a part number or know a place I could get one?

Advance, autozone and Rock auto dont have it...

I want to replace it as I believe its the source of my leak, but I have yet to pull the trans out.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I don't have the part number handy but, you do realize that the transmission has to be dismantled and that seal has to be pressed in right?

Yeah, honestly, without the right parts, you can crack your case half..... that might be something to pay someone to do..... I have seen some that came in cracked in half that tried it themselves....

Like he said, the trans has to b opened up and split in half to get to it. If you do disassemble it, make sure to put the bath tray back in.

I put the motor in about a month or so ago.

I had the trans apart and I cracked the case, had it repaired.

I have no issue with doing the work. It has to be done and Im surely not paying someone to do it for me when I can do it myself.

As far as press, I got a hydraulic press and a 2 ton arbor at the shop I work at. Both at my dispose.

Its going to be a lot of work I know. I wanted to replace it before installing but Advance/Autozone and the likes didnt have the seal and my Uncle said dont bother with it. Man oh man I wish I would have now... Next time I know better!

If you come across that part number let me know

I bought one for my trans... then my trans went kablooey cuz i left a tool where it shouldn't have been. No, not in the trans but it was on the clutch. Oops.

Its about $20 from the dealership. It looks like a long tube with a bearing on the end and an 0-ring type seal in the center.

Thanks for the info. I purchased the input shaft seal with that part number.

While there I spoke to a mechanic and told him about my trans and how its been broke/welded up. He suggested I get a new housing. So I did, he had one there he sold to me personally for $20.

SO now I got a new housing thats never been broke, all new rotating seals.

I dont expect to encounter a issue this time!!!

Hi! Insane question: I had this part replaced 10,000 miles ago at a shop in the clutch is slipping again. I'm worried that this seal is leaking again.

Could I simply stuff another O-ring past the splines and into the tube?

David
