Default Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

changed spark plugs. ngk 5643. cleaned aem dry flow filter. put in oem casette radio with equalizer, bought new cassette to headphone jack adapter, put on new windshield wipers. already don't like them

equalizer makes the music so much better without speakers having too much bass

question:

i need a few extra of those gray box things the 74 bulbs plug into on the cluster. is the junkyard really the only choice or can you buy them somewhere? i could take a few unused lights but would rather have everything illuminated. i bought 18 sylvania 74ll bulbs today, the video says there are 22 total.(got another 4 on the way advance auto)

Today, drove it Steering is good and there's no more suspension clunks. Jethro has left the building ('bout time)

It sat so long, I pulled the plugs and PCM "B" fuse to prime it. I also dumped some casual amount of motor oil down the holes cranked it and then put in olde plugs. Man oh man did it smke! Looked like 12:1 mix ratio. My personal tribute to Vladimir Lenin and the factory smoke of the people's great industrial revolution!

Saturday I replaced the swaybar bushings with black poly. Haven't made a highway journey yet but the few short trips I've made sure seem less wiggly! The fronts were the easiest job I've yet done to the car, the rears were a different story! Stupid brake lines...

Took apart what felt like the entire interior to install a FM/aux-in modulator. Soldered 12v in from the cigarette lighter source, and stuffed all the wires and modulator behind that velcro panel on the right side of the footwell. I now have to install a power switch and run a mini jack back to the pocket in the head unit.

(first post! I was given an SL2 last week in ridiculously good condition and have been really liking it so far. Quite a bit easier and cheaper to work on than my volvo )
