Odd tire size on the V6 VUE??

I saw that the V6 model VUE comes with 235/65/16 size tires. I can't understand why Saturn decided to go with this size since the tires it comes with are the only brand and model you can get in that size. No tire companies make tires this size, except for Bridgestone. You can get tires in 235/60/16 or 235/70/16, but not the 235/65/16 that it comes with, unless you replace them with the same tires that it comes with. Why would Saturn do this? Why not just use a tire size that is common. When the stock tires wear out, Saturn will be forcing people to either replace the tires with a size different from stock, or replace the stock tires with the same brand and model as stock.
Saturn makes some strange decissions.

Saturn is in contract with Firestone/Bridgestone. They probably used an odd size tire to make money for both companies. People are encouraged to get the tires from the retailer, because they are the exact tire size that came on the truck. It makes sense if you think about it. They did the same on the older coupes. Around here the only place you could find Firestone Firehawk GTA tires was at the Saturn dealer.

Bridgestone is not a bad brand overall.....they do make good stuff, esp in performance tires area.

The tire size from VUE won't be a big issue, you can always do Plus-sizing or Minus-sizing for the original size anyway.....

Put the size in tirerack. They sell a lot of OEM too and may have the Bridgestone. No one should buy tires from a dealer unless you like paying way to much. OEM's are almost always avaiable through other the dealer sources. It's like the L oil filter on the 4 cyl. Not many aftermarket out there yet.
