Oil pan..help!! Need ideas?

Ok, i got the DOHC engine hanging on the engine hoist almost ready to go in my car, i am re-sealing the cam cover and oil pan as they both leak..(its a 1993 engine), problem is that i dont have an engine stand available, so how do i flip the engine over to remove and re-seal the oil pan? i really would hate to roll it around on the concrete floor..any ideas?

Unless I'm missing some reason that you should flip the engine before affixing a new oil pan gasket to it, why would you want to flip the engine before affixing a new oil pan gasket to it? Why not just raise the engine enough to get to it, affix the new gasket, then lower it into the car? Or mount the engine as normal then remove/reinstall the pan?

just figured it would be MUCH easier than trying to do it standing underneath the motor..i sure dont want to screw it up and it still leak..

just raise it up high enough to comfortably work on it, remove the fasteners,
let the motor drip off any oil inside the crankcase, clean mating surfaces up, apply rtv sealant, either saturn oem or "ultra gray" permatex works good,
dont use too much, assemble promptly, within 5 minutes of applying sealant,
tighten fasteners, dont overtighten. if any sealer squeezes out just leave it alone, dont mess with it.

mating surfaces must be very clean and free of all oil/grease. use carb cleaner and clean cloth, or gasket material will not seal properly. if any oil should run down on to sealing area from inside motor before sealant cures this will foul the sealer as well, so make sure crankcase is as dry as possible inside.
