The Outlook models had the 6T75 transmission which had a significant number of failures due to a "3-5-R wave plate" which, as failure occurred, meant that the transmission couldn't shift to those gears. GM warrantied all of those transmissions, but according to the NHTSA.gov link below this warranty has expired. If the transmission has not had the warranty service provided, or the owner claims it was done but lacks documentary evidence to support it, then walk away and don't look back. Who ever may be the next and unlucky owner will eventually pay the full price of the repair.

Candidly, I hope that this Outlook turns out to be a good one! Since there aren't many active members with the Outlook at SaturnFans you might want to look into other forums with the Chevy Traverse or the GMC Acadia. Obviously, interior appointments will vary, but the powertrain is identical for these GM related SUV's.

Joe Biden for POTUS and Kamala Harris for VEEP. What follows if they get their way? A bad economy, weak military, increased terrorism and a greater RED CHINA.

Hmm, this is at an auction house, and I won't be able to drive it. I might be able to put it in gear.... I wonder if the local Chevy dealer could tell me if the work has been done.

Yes, all GM Lambda's. I have 3 Traverse's in my family..... sister, parents, and cousin. Cousin's 2010 (or maybe 2009) had to have an engine replaced, but the other two have been fine.

So I looked at it today:

More scratches than the pictures show.

Exhaust seemed a little loose, but wasn't loud.

Transmission looked a little wet underneath. (It did go into reverse)

Engine started ticking loudly. The tick may just be nothing, as my SL2 did that too since it hadn't been driven for awhile and needed an oil change.

I didn't test the AWD. Maybe that's all automatic any way?

Dye in refrigerant tag in engine compartment.

I want to like it, and bid on it, but it's got enough not right with it, that I'm quite leery. I guess I'll check with the local Chevy dealer and see if they can tell me about it's service history. Maybe I'll do some more research on that timing chain problem.

Also fair amount had timing chain problems. If I were to get an outlook, Acadia, enclave Id go with a 2012 or newer.
