2004 VUE 3.5L
2001 SC1
Default 04 Redline 151,000 general maintance

Going stong at 151k. Just replaced lower control arms which was surprisingly easy considering a $900 quote from dearship, cost $100 diy. I was suprized how bad the bushings were. Also did both front wheel bearings which was more than I expected as I could not get the bearings out of the knuckle. I should of pounded em more, but lost pactience. Fortunately was able to remove knuckle and had a shop remove for $100 and they put the new bearings in. Was easy job after that and $200 total since I could not get them out. Brakes and rotors as well and also replaced outer tie rods while I was in there. Alignment was only off slightly after complete and problely saved $2k. I am a very novice hack mechanic and just wanted to share that it is not difficult to do these repairs yourself. I did have to buy a few tools. 33mm socket and 24in breaker bar for the spindle nut, 21 and 18 mm wrenches and ball joint separator.
