The dash lights for all of the gauges as well as the cup holders and cig lighter have stopped working on my 96 sc1, i checked the fuse and it is still good and all the lights for the radio works. Also the lights for the A/C and rear defrost work and the overhead light is also working fine. Any idea what would cause the dash lights to go? other than a fuse?

It has to be a fuse. Take out each fuse from the passenger kik panel one at a time, until you find one that is burnt out. Its not as much work as it sounds, and is the best way to find the burnt out fuse. Once you find it just pop in a new one and viola.

The dimmer is an electronic module that Pulse Width Modulates the power to those lights. If it dies then no lights. It is not a simple rheostat that can be bypassed.
Check the PARK fuse in the engine compartment fuse box (UHJB). |

This is an old post but if anyone has this problem try switching the Chime Fuse on the inner fusebox. If it is a constant problem try a slightly larger fuse.
