re-synk key fob

How do I re-synk a keyfob that the batteries died on replaced the batteries but it still does not work or does the dealer have to do this. I've heard you do it with both remotes at the same time

Have you reviewed your owner's manual for instructions? Most require something along the lines of "pressing and holding the Lock and Unlock buttons down simultaneously, within 15' of the car, and waiting for the doorlocks to cycle as acknowledgement of a successful synch with each remote".
