Default RT43 Blowout?

At least that is what it looks like...

Was on my way to work on Interstate 40 and it looked like a shudder had fallen off a truck and was covering most of my lane. I ran over it on the drivers side then noticed a pick-up with 2 flats on drivers side, then I could hear my tire was flat. After I pulled over a car pulled behind me and another parked in front of me. Both had two flats.

The RT43 was mounted on rear. About a year old, but only used about 8,000 miles. On fronts I have Goodyear Winter tires. So I am not sure if it is the soft sidewall on the RT45 I have heard about that was the weak point?

The carnage was on the morning news. It took them a while to get the offending object off the road. Wal-Mart ordered a new RT43. $75.00 mounted plus tax when it arrives tomorrow.

As Joe Dirty would say "Daaang"!

When the tire comes of the rim find out why it went flat. Might not have been the sidewall failure it looks like.

Shudder?
Whatever does a "shudder had fallen off a truck" mean?

It means I cannot spell. Should have been tt not dd. As in window shutter. But, it was a little dark out so who knows what it was?

(I did fail every spelling test. Having dyslexia this happened more than I can count )

That's not a side wall failure that's due to what you ran over. I have work in a tires and have seen plenty. Plus I own a set of general altimax rt 43. Good tires.

I figured so. After seeing two full size pick-ups with multiple flats I thought it was not the tire, but what was in the road.

The process of getting a new tire from Wal-Mart was almost comical. I brought my tire in to front desk. Said I needed to talk to person in shop. Person in shop saw tire needed to be replaced. Told me I had to go to front desk to get it ordered. That was just ordering the tire. I was told it would be in next day in the morning and they would call.

Next morning no call. I had to call in twice. Finally in the afternoon they found they had the tire. When I went in I got the Who's on First Routine. I kept on being told you need to talk to someone else. There was a shop with about 6 guys standing around and I was the only job they had. Then they lost my tire behind a pile of tires. It seemed disorganized and communication was lacking.

They balanced the tire well and $81.00 was a fair price for everything. The lack of communication and disorganization was free. It helped me develop more patience.
