how do you tighten the automatic shift knob so it doesnt wiggle left and right?

The automatic shift knob mounts the same as the S-series shift knob. A U-shaped clip on the forward side of the vehicle clips it to the shifter. Using a short flat-head screwdriver, you can pry it out and the shift knob can be pulled up with ease.
As to preventing it from wiggling side-to-side, I do not believe you can eliminate all of the play. I imagine some rubber drawer liner may help but the mount method would require adhesive to prevent 100% of the play. I do not recommend that since shift knob removal helps if you ever need to remove the center console/shift assy. |
