The Truth About Cars is reporting that the Chinese automaker Brilliance has signed letters of intent with 36 former Saturn dealers, and may buy the Saturn brand outright:
http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wil...for-us-launch/ It's probably not true, because TTAC is notoriously biased against domestic automakers, particularly GM. But it's worth noting. And if you want to see the visual definition of the term "deathtrap," go to YouTube and enter the search terms "brilliance crash test". That is all.

Apparently doing some research, BMW supplied them with research and development for one of their Sedans.
And, yeah; I hope this isn't true either. Then again, "letters of intent"; doesn't mean anything more than that...just that they are "interested"...not necessarily that they will start to manufacture anything and import to the U.S. since the cars don't even meet crash and safety standards....

Wards Auto reports the same. It's probably true...
It would be great to keep the remaining stores open, and supply parts and service for the current Saturn owners. http://wardsdealer.com/latest/chines..._maker_091117/

They're just signing up dealers for Brilliance franchises (or whatever they end up calling themselves in the U.S.), not buying the brand. The dealers will have nothing but history in association with Saturn. No affiliation whatsoever.
