Default My 2.4L Aura maintenance thread - PN's and helpful info

If you aren't already a member over at the Chevy Malibu Forum, I suggest as an Aura owner you go sign up there as it sees more traffic than this section here on saturnfans.

Here's a link to my thread over there discussing a lot of common quirks and resolutions, how-to's and helpful info surrounding my 2.4L Aura.

Hope this proves helpful here:

there is no DTC B2AAA. i assume that just means the code reader you have cant interpret a code. you would have to ask the maker of the reader exactly what that might mean. i'd try another reader.

I used a ScanGuageII and an OTC code reader - there IS a code B2AAA.

Google it. I'm not the first!

Your pass airbag light could be the seat sensor or the buckle itself. Try electronic cleaner and spray the inside of the buckle and then the connections under the seat.

Gonna do that first chance I get - thanks golf!

Friend of mine looked up the issue w/ the airbag intermittent light and said GM released a TSB on passenger seat sensors faulty. He said the repair kit was like $700!

No. There definitely is not.

Here's the answer i just got from the manufacturer of the scangauge2 code reader:

"Thank you for your inquiry. A module in your vehicle is reporting a code that doesn't make any sense (B2AAA) because it is overwriting the true code and that B2AAA codes is the first code the SG2 is picking up. You can send a command to the ScanGaugeII in order to read the raw data. To do this:
From the home screen select MORE> MORE> CMNDS > choose a memory slot> EDIT> enter the numbers 03> SEND.

This is a work around for now and the engineers plan on doing another software revision that would allow the ScanGaugeII to ignore the meaningless code."

Yes this is true, but start simple. But there are know issues with the pass seat sensor. Easier to get a used seat from pick & pull.

I don't understand why you're trying to prove a point about there not being a B2AAA, while proving to me that there is....

If my check engine light comes on and the code that pops up on 2 different devices made by different manufacturers is B2AAA, then there is in fact a code B2AAA. Or does 1 + 1 = 37 in your world?

A code is a code, no? A google search reveals many others with code B2AAA popping up. Yet, there is no B2AAA according to you, even though SGII tech support people said there is, it's just a mask for a different code. Okay, it's still a code.

Lets play... Split-A-Hair!

I'll take codes that are shown but are not codes for $100 Alex!
