2004 ION Red Line
Default Another Ion clone?

Was reading a hockey article on a canadian website and it had an ad for a Pontiac Pursuit. I never heard of that. Clicked on the link and it looks similar and has the same ecotec engine as the Ion. Couldn't find anything about the car on the Pontiac page so I think it must be just in Canada.

I think it's simply a 4 Cylinder version of the G6 with a slightly different front-end styling. (I'm guessing only)

The model will probably be here soon and it's just another GM cookie cutter car.

Only in Canada, it's in four doors only.

The Cobalt is mostly sold in 2 doors, GM is pushing it alot.

Looks good!

Just looked at the Pontiac link. Damn that's crazy. Never thought they'd start taking Saturn's idea and making them thier own.

I thought the same thing when I took a look at the dash pics. It is a nice looking car with a nice package for the SE model.

What?

GM = Saturn = Pontiac = Chevy

Saturn isn't some dude who came out with the Ion, then Pontiac and Chevy stole the idea off him. GM is Saturn, Pontiac and Chevy.

The Pursuit is a Cobalt twin, and both the Cobalt and Pursuit drive a lot like the ION...the only thing is in my opinion they nailed the design with a more mainstream look and nicer interior refinement...very upscale looking!

The reason Pontiac gets this clone up here is that Canadians don't make as much money as you guys down in the States, so we buy a lot more smaller cars up here and Pontiac needs the Pursuit to be competative...we also have a clone of the Chev Aveo called the Pontiac Wave for the same reason.

GM is also .....Caddy, and Buick, and GMC, and SAAB, and Hummer.....

(they also have a stake in Isuzu, Subaru, and controls Daewoo, not to mention Opel, Vauxhaull, and Holden in other parts of the world.)

CoffeeEater.....I'm well aware that Saturn is part of GM. As well as...Buick, Cadilliac, GMC, Pontiac, SAAB, Hummer, and Chevrolet.

I work in the automotive bussiness.

I just didnt' think GM would use thier concept for the Ion on other GM products....not so closely resembling.
