2002 SC2
Default GM replacement door lock cylinders unavailable?

I was gifted a 2002 SL2 with manual locks that definitely needs new front door locks. It appears that GM part # 21170409 is the correct part, but they are discontinued. Is there a replacement, and what is the best replacement part for this code?

Thank you.

You can still get them. Just need to check with other GM Dealers

Seems like I checked with about 10 online sources and came up empty.
Maybe local GM dealerships may have stock.
If not, need to go to aftermarket sources....ebay, autozone, advance auto, O'rileys.....

But back up a second, why do you believe you need both or any locks?

Kinda odd that the passenger lock is as bad as the drivers side.

Acting stiff or sluggish, they may just need dry graphite lube or gunk cleaned out of them.

OR, get a locksmith to take them apart and repair.

Not really. Manual locks, so entry with a key was required and the driver's side was broken for many years so they constantly used the passenger side lock which is now pretty much done too.

I guess I can call individual dealers but no one on line is showing any stock available. Going to try PAP this weekend.

Are the lock cylinders for the 2002 Vue really the same as those for the 2002 S Series?

Old Part Number 21170409
New Part Number 15841203
Part Name Lock cylinder, vue

Down here in central Florida, my GM Dealer explained that they have organised the dealers with regard to Saturn parts into regional centers. Their dealership is the regional center. That makes sense as it groups parts together until they dwindle down.

You will find GM dealers online that show diagrams and actually show the part available until you get to checkout. Keep it local, contact your dealer.
