Default Shifter bushing

I'm having a hard time locating the shifter bushing for my manual transmission Vue. There is a lot (1/8") of play between this bushing and it's housing. I believe this is what is causing my hit or miss shifting problems, especially trying to get into 1st gear. It may also be giving me problems when down shifting into 2nd (acts at times like synchromesh is going out)

I've seen similar bushings available for other cars so I know it can be a wear item.

It's not on either end of either cable. It's the (about) 2" I.D. bushing that is a socket for the plastic ball that's at the bottom end of the shift lever. There is a lot of play between this bushing and it's plastic holder.

For some reason, it seems if I go into 3rd gear first, I than can go into 1st without problem. If I go from 2nd straight up to 1st I usually have problems.

Did you change your cables recently? I introduced a similar issue when I changed mine out. Itís been a while, but I think I was able to correct it by fiddling with the adjuster for the cable that moves when you push the shifter side-to-side (I forget which color)

Thanks for the reply. No, I didn't change cables (bought it used about 2 years ago). I plan on going to Gibson's and see if I can get the whole shifter assembly or at least get a better idea how the parts interact.

Iirc, the ball at the bottom of the lever connects to the front-back cable (black) adjuster, which you can buy for around 30$ part no. 15212802

I bought one of those a while ago. Waiting to install it when the current one breaks. My understanding of that part is if it breaks, no shifting, otherwise, no problem shifting,

What you say is correct.
I misread your original post. I see now you are talking about the large pivot at the fulcrum.
Probably canít get new individual parts for that mechanism.
