Default ignition coils? anything better then stock?

i was doing some looking and found some accel coils and found that most v6 gm engine coils will work with mod. does the stock coil drop volts after it gets rusty?

I have installed low ohm wires. (obx)

it's generally agreed that the BEST setup is the original stuff. even the OBX wires take away from system reliability. same goes for ignition coils.

The aftermarket coils are all junk, use good condition stock OEM. You can use Magnecore wires if you want but other than the Magnecor wires stay with the regular carbon fiber wires.

I tried ACCEL coils. One of them failed.

I went back to a stock setup I pulled from a wrecker car... problem free.

You mean like this?

I don't know if they "work better" or are just less prone to corroding.

I noticed no difference over stock, with the Accel coils.

Until one day my car was running on 3 cyl. That was a bit of a difference.

I returned them for a refund and went back to stock.

I've had great success with Accel and Jegs coils. They're not any better than new OEM coils. But they can be found cheaper and are just as reliable.

The only way new coils, aftermarket or OEM would gain any performance improvment is if the originals are shot.
