Default curse you hurricane dolly!

as you can see i live in corpus christi, tx. hurricane dolly made landfall 80 miles south of here so the wind is only about 50mph here. that's not the problem though, the problem is being on the north side of the hurricane. at work we recieved 8" of rain in about 4 hours. I work on the naval air station and jeez it floods like hell out there! basically i was stranded at work for about 2 hours until the water levels went down enough for me to drive in. I was able to see my car in the parking lot sitting in about 6 inches of water and some parts of the road were under 2 feet of water.

it's times like that when i wished i had some of those airbags in my suspension hahaha jk

Send some excess rain to this stinkin' desert!
Hope the heavy rain is the worst of your weather issues...

I hate the names they come up with for hurricanes. Its so stupid. Just give it a name and be done with it... we dont need alphabetical boy girl boy girl what not. Its a cloud (a really big mean angry cloud, big bully ), but i dont think it cares what its name is. Thats just my personal opinion tho.

Hmm, Hurricane Dolly comes just as the Dalai Lama is visiting the US. Coincidence?....

I hope you're okay.

I was stationed at the Charleston (SC) Naval Base when Hurricane Hugo hit in 1989. My beater Subaru GL, which was in the main parking lot, had a waterline up to its rear view mirror.

No fresh water or electricity for a while after that one. It sucked. A lot.

EDIT: Oops. That was the Subaru "The Brown Hornet" GL Hatchback. I had ditched the Escort by then.

Jesus, two feet deep in the rain? 8" of rain in two hours? Where I live we got only 4 inches of rain throughout 2005 and eight inches of rain annually since then.
