Default 1998 Fuel Filter - (Fuel line retainers)

Ok... 98 SL2 with 118k on it, figure it's time to change the fuel filter. The FRAM replacement filter I bought didn't come with a bracket, nor the new fuel line retainers.

The bracket I think I'm OK with, I just want to make sure that it's OK to reuse the old fuel line retainers?

If so, is there a trick to getting them off the old filter, and onto the new one?

Thanks!

You can and should reuse them. Look at how they are held on. There a tab on the inside of the connecter that snaps on the ring on the filter. Just spread it a little to get it over the ring.

Welcome to the Board.

Leave the bracker bolted to the car and ease the filter out of it. The hold down bolts rust n place and break whne you try to remove them.

The clips can be reused if not damaged. They are released from from the line by squeezing together the two tabs that you see that are out of the line towards the filter.
