Default Transmission fluid 04 V6

I have a 04 Vue V6 automatic that just went over 80,000 miles on it. I know the service manual says to change the transmission fluid at 100,000 miles but I have also read other peoples comments about changing it sooner?

I want this car to last as long as possible with as little issues as possible so is waiting till the 100,000 mile mark a good idea or should I change it sooner?

First fluid change for my 05 Vue was at 35,000 miles. And I did it twice more at 100 mile intervals. Now I change fluid at 20,000 miles. Fluid is really cheap compared to the alternative (trans or torque converter repair).

You should know the owners manual says to change transmission fluid at 25,000 mile intervals for severe service ... and when you read description for severe service it sounds like how most of us use the Vue: hot temps, city traffic, hilly terrain, pull a trailer, etc.
...
I try to visit forum often but suggest you use private messages if in a rush (comes to cell) and include email address for extracts. I seldom check visitor messages so please don't use.
