Default New battery...

Had to replace mine over the weekend..had a heck of a time finding one, Sears, my usual source for them didn't carry one, nor did the local auto parts store. I managed to get one from my local GMC/Buick dealer (former Saturn dealer) for $105, exact fit..just passing along...

The Astra uses a Group 91 battery that isn't common enough for many auto parts stores to keep in stock, but they should still be available via special order (it would depend on the counter person's knowledge and/or willingness to help). I worked for Sears Canada back when they still had Auto Centres up here, and remember a few times making special requests.

$105 for an OEM battery is about half the price of what they used to sell for about ten years ago, so maybe they've finally decided to stop pricing themselves out of the market compared to the competition. Hopefully AC Delco has increased their warranties on their batteries as well. Otherwise, I always recommend that people shop around for the best warranty they can get -- even though most of it is pro-rated.

Thanks. I managed to get them to drop it from $120 since the car was purchased there new, whilst they were still selling Saturns of course.

It's a 36 month replacement, on par with what I usually get with my Diehard batteries.

Capital One Buick? They are pretty good about getting Astra parts. At least the easy stuff like filters.

I was able to get my battery from Hardy Chevolet but they got it from somewhere else because they had to order it in. Got it same day for around $80.

Autozone carries a battery for the Astra. It was around $100. I had to get one this summer.

My Advance also carries this size, as it's the same size an E36 BMW 318i uses. I paid $90 for the last group 91 I bought, and they had it on the shelf with about 3 more behind it, and I'm in a small town.

That's good to know that it is hard to find. Online is often the best bet. Keep on driving!
