Default Steering rack boot clamps

I am going to be changing out the inner and out tie rod ends on a 2005 Ion 2.

The standard boot clamps usually get mangled on disassembly and are near impossible to put back on. The boots are in good condition, so I plan on reusing them.

What clamp substitutes have worked for you guys? Can a regular hose clamp with the worm gear tightener work? Heavy duty Zip Ties? Or just leave them off if they are held tight enough as is?

Thanks,

Tom
