Default OEM Tires out at 36K miles. Replaced with 265/60R18

Hola,
My 2009 Outlook XE original tires wore down to the wear bars at 36k miles. I never liked the OEM tires. Anyways. I replaced them with Michelin Latitude Tour 265/60 R18 109T. Fitment is great, tires look awesome. I was able to get them on ebay from a reseller for $133 a piece shipped (if you want the tires, they are still available, seller is in Ohio, took about 1 week to get to So Cal.). Tires were between 9 - 10 months old according to DOT production codes. Locally installed at $30 per tire mounted and balanced including recycling fee on used tires.

Total of $163 per tire installed including tax, for Michelin's which usually run over $180 not including mount, balance and recycling fee/tax.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

now i know why you had problem with tire pressure sensors. they broke them when dismounting tires.

Actually the sensors were broken before I got the tires replaced. At 30k miles last year. I just replaced my tires about a month ago.

I was just looking at the same tire at the same place; but was wondering if the larger size would throw off my alignment, steering, or handling? I find the same tire in the 255 size is 50-$100 more for a smaller tire; probably because theyre les popular? I also notice the that particular Michelin tire had a few warnings about deep snow and wider tires; which the 265 would be. Anyone have any experience with these tires in the Snow? I live between Denver and Colorado Springs and we do get the occassional big dumper here.

I had very good luck with Kumho Solis k21's on a quest minivan, but that was a more narrower 215 or 205. Need some advice. I got 54k on the originals and they need to be changed, quick! Thanx in advance.

Just an FYI on tires. I had my wifes XR tires nitrogen filled at less than 5000 miles and rotated them every 10000. Just replaced them this past spring with over 70000 on the OEM tires.
Replaced them because two of them finally got down to the wear bars, the other two were getting close enough to warrant doing the full set.
Have the Hankooks on now.
