Default Quick question

Alrite I did my search throughout the boards. For an answer and couldn't quite find what i was looking for. Alrite my stock head unit broke..the big one with the cassette and cd player in it. Now my question is if i just purchase an aftermarket double din? Should it fit in there perfectly? Has anybody done this. I read a lot of ppl just converted the double din's into a single din with a nice head unit but I don't want to do that.
